Tracey: I'm, Tracey and I wanted to ask what foods really help keep your cholesterol down?Roberta Lee: Tracey, the foods that I talk to my patients to keep cholesterol down are foods that have fiber. One of the easiest and cholesterol lowing foods that you can take in the morning is steel-cut oats. Steel-cut oats have great fiber and they reduce cholesterol, another is fish oil but the amounts we want to see for reducing cholesterol usually come in the form of fish oil capsules but if you're a person who loves food as I do I generally recommend taking fish, cold water fish that is salmon, tuna, sardines or herring at least once a week.
