Vilnius University Hospital SK

Vilnius University Hospital Santariskiu Klinikos (VUH SK) is one of the major academic diagnostic and treatment centers, the tertiary multi- profile personal health care services providing institution in the Lithuania. Its main goal is to ensure and execute high – specialized diagnostics and treatment services, educational and scientific work.

VUH SK is currently the only hospital in Lithuania to have a PACS. The 1100-bed teaching hospital, which handles around 300,000 outpatient and 30,000 inpatient visits each year, has been chosen to showcase electronic image management in the former Soviet state. The cost of hardware and software, however, remains prohibitively high for Lithuania to contemplate widespread PACS implementation at present.
